United Way of Merced County is a trusted local nonprofit committed to improving lives and strengthening our community by addressing the most critical needs in health, education, and economic stability. Founded in 1954, we’ve evolved from a traditional fundraising agency into a direct service provider and regional leader in community impact.
From operating the 211 Merced County referral system to providing Enhanced Care Management (ECM) services through CalAIM, we connect thousands of residents each year to essential resources like housing, food, healthcare, mental health support, and financial assistance. We support grassroots nonprofits through our RISE capacity-building program, help low-income families through free tax preparation (VITA), and deliver thousands of hours of in-person healthcare interpretation through our Language Care program.
With a focus on equity, innovation, and rapid response, we partner with local organizations, public agencies, and residents to build a more resilient Merced County—one where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
