THE CLIFF:

So many like Mallory fall off of it when they graduate high school. Of course, this isn’t a literal cliff; it’s figurative for the sudden free fall from the many resources so many people with intellectual and developmental disabilities experience when they graduate. No aides. No support aside from family. No integration. No inclusion.

Employment is the #1 gap for adults with I/DD upon graduating from high school or college. Programs like Wild & Free supported by The Arc of High Point are focused on ensuring participants are equipped with social and communication skills that increase their prospects of leading meaningful and independent lives of their choice. Funding this type of program doesn’t come from a single generous individual…it comes from people like you and me!

Whether it’s $5 or $500, your donation to Over the Edge helps people like Mallory recognize their dreams of independent living. April 18th will be a fun day full of food, music, and rappelers jumping off a building to show our love and support, but your donation goes FAR beyond that single event! Your donation will touch the life of each participant at The Arc for the year to come.
