As the Homeless Program Coordinator at Community Solutions of Eastern Iowa (CSEI), I see firsthand how vital stable housing is—not just for survival, but for dignity, hope, and a fresh start. Every day, I work with individuals and families in Dubuque and Delaware Counties who are navigating some of the most difficult chapters of their lives. My job is to help them find safe, stable homes—and to make sure they never have to face those challenges alone.

But the truth is, we can’t do this work in a vacuum. It takes a community. It takes partnership. And it takes bold action.

That’s why I’m going Over the Edge for United Way.

This event isn’t just about rappelling down the side of a building. It’s about showing up—for the people who depend on us. United Way’s support helps fund the programs that give our clients the resources, guidance, and stability they need to rebuild their lives. Every dollar we raise brings someone closer to home.

So I’m taking the leap—literally—to remind our community that housing is more than a roof. It’s the foundation for everything else. And no one should have to face the edge of homelessness alone.
