Almost a decade ago, my family and I arrived in State College, PA.
We found a home here in part because of the State College Community
Land Trust, an organization that is partially supported by Centre
County United Way. We were able to feel rooted and grounded here
because of this organization, and know that United Way supports so
many other causes that allow our fellow residents to also feel a
deeper sense of community and connection with this region.
I know that each of us who will be going Over The Edge are doing so
for a different reason, yet when we take on a challenge like this we
form a connection with people whom we did not know before. Moments of
storytelling occur between people organizing the event, preparing, and
even standing in line waiting their turn. And we pick up stories along
the way of the many other people in our midst who also care about
Centre County United Way.
