The Palm Beach County median home price has increased 32% over the same time last year, making the dream of homeownership more difficult for many families in our community. Habitat for Humanity has an increasingly critical role to ensure that families in our community have the help they need to build strength and stability through shelter. Your support helps us build new homes for families in need while revitalizing neighborhoods throughout Palm Beach County.
Your impact will help families like the Bridges family, pictured in the media library above. Mary Bridges is the custodial guardian for five children; Ricky, Joseph, Arniyah, Ruth, and Isabella. The home allows Mary to care for the children, full time, while seeing them play in the yard and in their rooms. You can make a difference in the life of a Habitat family just like them. 39% of families in Palm Beach County spend more than a third of their income on housing - making the dream of homeownership a difficult one. Housing instability - frequent moves, the threat of foreclosure, and unsafe conditions - creates hopelessness for far too many families. Habitat for Humanity of Palm Beach County partners with families in need to build affordable homes, together . We envision a world where everyone has a decent place to live.
Habitat Partner Families are required to invest a minimum of 400 sweat equity hours of their own labor before being eligible to purchase their home, utilizing a 30-year, no profit, no-interest loan. With your support, Habitat Homeowners achieve the strength, stability, and self-reliance they need to build a better life for themselves and for their families.
We are primarily a volunteer organization, covering a geographical area from Hypoluxo Road to the Martin County Line; building homes in Belle Glade, Lake Worth, Greenacres, Jupiter, Pahokee, Riviera Beach, Westgate, and West Palm Beach.
