The Uphill Battle
For over 13 years, I have fought for people in the courtroom. As a personal injury attorney at Forman & Associates here in Louisville, I meet people on the worst days of their lives—when they are injured, vulnerable, and facing a mountain of obstacles. My job is to take on that burden, fight the uphill battle, and help them get back on their feet.
But today, I’m trading the uphill battle for a vertical drop.
The Solution
We all know that real change requires bold action. It requires stepping out of your comfort zone and taking a risk for something bigger than yourself. That is why I am clipping in and rappelling down a skyscraper to support Critically Loved.
While I’m used to high-pressure situations—whether it’s a difficult trial or handling high-performance cars—this is a different kind of adrenaline. I am going "Over The Edge" to raise critical funds that will help Critically Loved provide critical support to children with chronic illnesses and disabilities by helping their families navigate medical crises, covering essential bills, and offering educational and emotional guidance.
The Gap
Right now, there are members of our community who feel like they are hanging by a thread. They lack the resources and support they need to overcome the challenges they face. Critically Loved is the safety line that catches them, but they cannot do it without funding. Without our help, that safety line frays.

Reach the fundraising minimum:
- $500 for individuals, with the goal being $1,000 (includes a souvenir and event t-shirt)
- An average of $500 for EACH Team member, with goal being an average of $1,000 each (includes a souvenir and event t-shirt)
- $1,000 for Fearless Leaders, with the goal being $2,000 (includes a cape for the rappel, souvenir, and event t-shirt)
- Once the fundraising minimum has been reached, schedule your preferred rappel time

Critically Loved:
Critically Loved was founded by our Executive Director, TyiaLynn, whose 25-year-old daughter was diagnosed with life-threatening internal bleeding at age 5. It took her years to learn how to manage her daughter’s healthcare. Not wanting other parents to struggle like she did, in 2015, TyiaLynn started Critically Loved to help families navigate a difficult road. Critically Loved supports families:
PRACTICALLY: with issues relating to school,
insurance, and medical bills
EMOTIONALLY: by meeting one on one with parents, with
professional counseling, and by providing events where families can
connect with one another
SPIRITUALLY: in group settings in churches around the
community and via zoom
Critically Loved also focuses on child
abuse prevention and Inclusion Education where typical children learn
to appreciate differences in their peers with unique abilities and are
encouraged to overcome their own challenges.
In 2025 alone, Critically Loved served 1,820 families and provided Inclusion Education to 200 students! Since most families we serve are already overwhelmed with time off work to care for their child and medical bills, we never charge for our services. Therefore, we rely 100% on donations and fundraisers to exist. Please consider supporting this event to make an impact in the lives of families with critically and chronically ill children in our community!
